About Us
Meet Pistachio’s Team
Our Mission
We're dedicated to making cybersecurity a seamless part of your digital life.
Pistachio is a cybersecurity company founded in 2019 in Oslo, Norway, focused on making digital security accessible to everyone. Unlike other awareness training tools that expect users to manage everything themselves, Pistachio handles it all—sending personalized, automated cybersecurity training directly to employees.
The system adjusts content to each user’s unique requirements and provides real-world simulations to help them understand cybersecurity threats. The name comes from the movie The Master of Disguise, where the protagonist, Pistachio Disguisey, uses his skills of disguise for good. We felt that was fitting, as we disguise ourselves as malicious actors in order to help people learn about cybersecurity in a safe environment.
Pistachio Principles
Our work is guided
by four core principles
Learn-by-doing
We send tailored simulations based on realistic scenarios, removing the need for outdated, generic content. Without quizzes, boring videos, or gamification gimmicks, we offer a safe space for your team to make mistakes and naturally sharpen their skills for the next attack—real or simulated.
Be Realistic
Most people don’t care about security awareness training, so trying to make it 'fun' is already an uphill battle. Instead, we focus on convenience. With automatic delivery straight to their inboxes and no logins required, building security awareness becomes an effortless part of everyday life—something they don’t have to schedule in.
Actually Automated
We are an automated alternative to the existing competitors that are mainly manual (despite claiming to have automated products). With our product, you don’t need to spend more than 15 minutes a year on our platform; 10 minutes to set up and 5 minutes to download reports when needed.
Progress Not Perfection
We firmly believe that reaching 100% security, and staying there, should not the goal for any company. Instead, they should aim for continuous awareness training to be a way to help adapt their team to evolving cyber-threats and nurture a security conscious culture.
